Elasticsearch overview

What is Elasticsearch?

According to Elastic NV:

“Elasticsearch is a distributed, open-source search and analytics engine, designed for horizontal scalability, reliability, and easy management. It combines the speed of search with the power of analytics via a sophisticated, developer-friendly query language covering structured, unstructured, and time-series data.”

The Elasticsearch ecosystem also includes visualization tools like Kibana, logging tools like Logstash, data ingest tools like Beats, and more.

Elasticsearch is flexible enough to power your web app or E-commerce site’s search. It can support your Security Information and Event Management system or act as a log and metrics analysis pipeline.

What’s included in an ObjectRocket Elasticsearch instance?

Daily administration, monitoring, backups, and scaling NoSQL data stores like Elasticsearch are challenges for already overtaxed teams. ObjectRocket assumes this operational burden with a purpose-built platform and everyday Fanatical Experience ® that lets you focus on using Elasticsearch, instead of keeping it up and running.

ObjectRocket for Elasticsearch offers several configuration options, but all instances include the following functionality:

  • Highly available clusters
  • Automated scaling
  • Dedicated Kibana and Dashboard nodes
  • Daily backups
  • Dedicated master nodes

Managing your Elasticsearch instance

Manage your Elasticsearch instance from the Mission Control interface.

Note

If you are still using the legacy ObjectRocket interface, you can access it with Single Sign-On from Mission Control.
